Why Charan Kamal?

In Gurbani, Charan Kamal represents the ultimate state of humility, surrender, and devotion to the Guru. This digital seva was named to reflect that exact humbleness. It is not about personal pride or flaunting a name, but rather a constant reminder that we are all simply seeking the dust of the Guru's feet.

What is this?

Charan Kamal is a free digital sanctuary designed for those who seek wisdom from the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. It is not a spiritual authority and it does not replace the Sangat, the Gurdwara, or the Granthi.

It is simply a quiet space where you can search the Granth, read the daily Hukamnama, and recite your Nitnem.

The name Charan Kamal represents a gesture of sitting at the feet of the Guru. This humility is the foundation of our project.

How does it work?

Scripture is sourced from BaniDB

Every shabad, every verse, and every translation on this website is pulled directly from BaniDB, a verified, community-maintained database of Gurbani. All Nitnem banis have been audited to strictly follow standard SGPC formatting. No verse is generated, paraphrased, or invented by artificial intelligence.

Search finds - it does not create

When you search, the system looks for matching shabads in the database. It surfaces what is already written. The Guru's words are not modified, interpreted, or rewritten.

Translations are scholarly, not algorithmic

Translations shown are from established Gurbani scholars via BaniDB. We display the source so you can always verify. A Shabad ID is shown with every result for cross-reference.

This website does not ask for your email, does not track your searches, and does not show advertisements. Your conversation with Gurbani is private.

We fetch the daily Hukamnama directly from the Darbar Sahib in Amritsar every single morning. Your day begins with the same divine message shared with the Sangat around the world.
